Dear Mr. Foti:

The Department of Health of the County of Riverside is pleased to approve you aerobic waste treatment system utilizing a three compartment septic tank with pump for introducing air when installed according to the specifications listed in File No. 1861, attached, of the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO). Approval by IAPMO and installation according to their attached instructions relieves this Department from the necessity of terming that installation experimental.

In addition, the County of Riverside Department of Health has sent to the Building and Safety Department a proposal to approve installation of a transpiration system rather than the drain field in accordance with Appendix I of the Uniform Plumbing Code. On receipt of concurrence from that Department, we will submit our joint proposal for approval to the Regional Water Quality Control Boards that have jurisdiction in this area for review and comment. We will attempt to encourage these agencies to expedite their correspondence and hope to be able to respond in a positive manner to you as soon as possible.
